As a Mother, Woman, Human - it is sometimes hard to make time for creativity and connection in a life that already feels so full. I believe, however, that both are essential to our wellbeing.
The power of setting aside a specific time with a specific intention makes it possible - we must add it into the rhythm of our lives. With this is mind, I am hosting monthly-ish gatherings near the full moon: Moonlight Makers. I would love for you to join me!
The art of crafting and the art of mindfulness are a natural pair. Crafting offers space to reconnect with creativity and inner calm and can become a meditative practice that deepens presence and peace. When we do it together, there is community and connection. These are the intentions of Moonlight Makers!
We gather Sundays near the full moon, 2-4pm, with this rough outline of time together:
- Welcome: grab tea or a tonic, pick a little treat, and find a seat.
- Settle and Soothe: a short guided meditation practice to support presence and soothe the nervous system.
- Move with Ease: a short guided + gentle movement sequence specifically for crafters to release tension and improve mobility.
- Craft and Connect: heartfelt community conversations around crafting, mindfulness, life, and creativity. Bring your works in progress and craft in a supportive, circle-based space.
Next gathering: March 1st, 2-4pm, my home loft studio (ladder-like stair entrance)
All levels of crafting experience are welcome—whether you’re brand new or a seasoned maker. Come as you are, because who you are is perfect.
NOTE: Consider bringing a simple, meditative project that’s easy to work on during our connection and mindfulness practice - it helps deepen the experience. I am usually knitting a simple prayer shawl - learn more about those here.
